About Luke


Luke Postlethwaite is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist, educator, and the founding director of The Biomechanics, a progressive allied health clinic delivering person-centred, evidence-informed rehabilitation across Melbourne. He is also the founding director of The Knowledge Exchange, a professional development platform for clinicians offering courses grounded in contemporary pain science and biopsychosocial care.

Luke works with a wide range of people from everyday movers and NDIS participants to national-level endurance athletes and world record holders in cycling and triathlon. With a strong background in musculoskeletal rehabilitation, pain science, and strength and conditioning, he’s known for his clear communication, thoughtful programming, and practical approach to complex problems.

Luke is a teaching fellow at Deakin University, where he teaches anatomy, and at Victoria University, where he authored and lectures in the Pain Science unit as part of the postgraduate exercise physiology program. He also presents regularly at national and international conferences and is part of Pain Revolution, a not-for-profit organisation bringing cutting-edge pain education to rural and regional Australia.

He sits on the Pain Advisory Committee for ESSA and is currently developing a musculoskeletal rehabilitation course in partnership with ESSA to support clinicians delivering modern, ethical, and effective care.
