Using Medicare fo allied health services

USING MEDICARE FOR YOUR SESSIONS

At The Biomechanics our team are highly qualified and experienced practitioners with a passion for helping you get to your goals. Our aim is to provide you with support, guidance, education and a plan to keep you moving.

Our team of industry leading allied health professionals; osteopaths, physiotherapists, exercise physiologists and podiatrists are all registered Medicare providers and are focussed on assisting you with your goals and to improve your quality of life. This is done by helping improve your mobility, flexibility, strength, endurance, general health and weight control as needed. Access to all this and more can be found at our beautiful Footscray clinic.

There are a number of compensatory schemes that you can use to help with the cost of our services, below is more information on Medicare and how you can access it.

AM I ELIGABLE FOR SERVICES WITH A MEDICARE REBATE?

To receive a rebate from medicare for your sessions you will need to have an appropriate enhanced primary care plan (EPC) and a team care arrangement (TCA) developed by your GP.

EPCs are available for chronic issues (had for greater than 3 months) and your GP will discuss the most appropriate treatments for your issue.

HOW MANY SESSIONS CAN I HAVE?

Each calendar year you get access to 5 allied health sessions that your GP believes will be beneficial to your issue or condition. Your GP will allocate these services for you – if you have a preferred provider you are able to discuss this with your GP and request for the plan to be developed with your chosen provider.

Your EPC will expire 12 months from the date that it was issued regardless if you have attended all of the allocated services.

ARE BULK-BILLED SERVICES AVAILABLE?

Bulk-billed services are services that are fully funded by medicare and have no out of pocket expenses.

Speak to our team about your eligibility for bulk-billing. We believe in taking the time to learn about you and to develop an appropriate plan for your progress so will spend an hour with you at your first visit. Consecutive appointments will be for 30mins.

Please let us know if you hold a government issued concession or seniors card so that we can assist with cost of services. This will be discussed with you at the time of booking your appointment.

WHAT TO BRING TO YOUR FIRST APPOINTMENT?

When calling to make an appointment you must let us know that you have an EPC so that we can book you with the appropriate person. You will need to bring all of the documents that your GP gave you along to your first appointment as well as your medicare card. Your medicare claim will not be able to be processed without this information

To book your appointment or if you have any questions please call us on 1300 920 520.
